Attorney Mark Dillman was interviewed for an article on the legal news, information and blog website www.LawCommentary.com. The article discusses a lawsuit brought against CVS by a former employee who was fired after refusing to prescribe contraceptives due to her religious beliefs. Mr. Dillman explained the religious freedom protections offered under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and an employer’s duty to reasonably accommodate an employee’s religious beliefs so long as the accommodation does not impose an undue hardship on the business.

Mark Dillman was recently featured in an article discussing a measure that passed the U.S. House of Representatives – the Equality Act – that would expand the rights of LGBTQ individuals without an exemption for religious groups that operate places of worship, universities, hospitals or other institutions. Mr. Dillman was interviewed regarding the interplay between the Equality Act and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) and the likelihood of the current version of the Equality Act passing in the U.S. Senate.
