U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission – The EEOC is the federal agency enforcing the nation’s employment discrimination laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Equal Pay Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and more. You can file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC if you were discriminated against in the workplace based on any of the following factors: age, disability, genetic information, national origin, pregnancy, race/color, religion, retaliation, or sex. You are also protected against harassment, sexual harassment retaliation, among other things.

Whistleblower Protection – Part of the U.S. Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) protects workers from retaliation for reporting injuries or safety concerns, or engaging in other protected activity. Florida state employees are protected from retaliation for blowing the whistle under the Florida Whistle-Blower Act.

U.S. Department of Labor – The Wage & Hour Division investigates and enforces minimum wage and overtime violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Wage & Hour is also in charge of other federal labor laws, such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and certain programs for immigrant workers pursuant to the Immigration and Nationality Act.
